The Pipe Organ

Pilcher Sons, Inc. Organ Company of Louisville, Kentucky.

The 1923 Pilcher Pipe Organ will be restored to it's original condition, with the exception of the console and certain other state-of-the-art improvements.

The new console, a Rodgers 360 Theatre instrument has recently been installed, and work on the interface to the pipe organ will begin soon.

A new antiphonal division has been added to the electronic portion of the organ as a result of a generous donation from Mr. Noel Shine, a member of the Central Florida American Theatre Organ Society. Mr. Shine's donation has made it possible for us to complete the Rodgers 360 Theatre Console/Organ, and we are now working on the marriage of the two organs, namely the Pilcher Pipe Organ and the Rodgers Theatre Organ.

The combined fourteen rank Pilcher and Rodgers-- approximately equivalent to thirty-five ranks-- will be the largest instrument of its kind in the area.

The new Rodgers console also includes 360 MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) sounds.

Future additions will include an eleven bell Zimbelstern, a winded trumpet stop in the rear balcony, and a lift to bring the console up to stage level.

Mr. Jim Pollard, 2003 President of the Cornerstone Center, has committed to seeing that the organ project is completed with the latest in technology while preserving the historical integrity of the original instrument.

As we assemble more information about our pipe organ and the ongoing restoration we will publish that information here.
