About Cornerstone Chapel, Inc.

Cornerstone Chapel, Inc. is a group of interested citizens organized to oversee the maintenance and restoration of the former sanctuary building of the First Baptist Church of Plant City, Florida.

This building, now referred to as the Plant City Cornerstone Center, was built in 1923 and housed the First Baptist Church of Plant City, Florida until 1994, when a larger sanctuary had to be built to hold the growing congregation.

 

Recognizing the sanctuary wouldn't adequately provide the needed educational space, but wanting to not lose a building of such historical significance in our city, the congregation- following the leadership of a wise deacon of the church- transferred ownership of the building to a new corporation created solely to care for the building. Cornerstone Chapel, Inc. is this new corporation.

 

With seed money provided by the church, this organization is charged with planning, funding, and executing the restoration of the newly renamed Plant City Cornerstone Center.
